Why PDP lifted suspension on Tukur—Metuh

NATIONAL leadership of the Peoples Democratic
Party, PDP disclosed yesterday that the party lifted
the suspension of its former National Chairman,
Alhaji Bamanga Tukur because of his total loyalty
to President Goodluck Jonathan and his
commitment to the growth and development of
PDP.
Answering questions from journalists yesterday,
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh
said, “What informed that decision beside the facts
that suspensions are for specific periods, 30 days
in the first instance which was not renewed, in
spite of that we have to make it public, as a mark
of honour to the former chairman, where he has
displayed undue restrain, respect for constituted
authority.
“He has shown loyalty, he has shown his
commitment, he has shown his dedication to our
party, our programmes, our policies and to the
President who is the leader of the party, he has
been campaigning and he has shown complete
loyalty to Mr President. So we are happy, we
believe he remains a father figure in our party and
we admire that in him.”
